Beaches with very white sand tend to be on the Gulf of Mexico, from Northwest Florida all the way south to Naples. Atlantic beaches tend to have golden-brown sand, though of course it varies a bit by location (Ormond Beach’s sand is a beautiful orange color!)
Likewise, beaches on the gulf tend to have clearer water, simply because the water tends to be calmer. (Water clarity in all locations varies from week to week, and even from day-to-day depending on the amount of sunlight, the temperature, the amount of rainfall, the wind speed and direction, water currents and surf.)
