You say you're either going, or thinking of going, to watch the best pros in the world at the World Golf Championships in Miami this week?
Not a bad idea, considering that 59 of the top 60 players in the world right now will compete in the Cadillac Championship, including Tiger Woods and Honda Classic winner Rory McIlroy.
If you are, do not even try to tell me you won't get the golf bug and want to play. Here are a couple of South Florida deals I culled just for you, and for you alone.
Shula's Hotel and Golf Club has a stay and play package that includes your room, daily breakfast, a round of golf, range balls and a $25 gift certificate at the original Shula's Steak House.
I love this place. I once tried to eat three pounds of meat at the steakhouse. I felt like a side of beef.
It's $150 per person through March 31. Call 305-821-1150 for more info and save room in your belly for big beef.
Also, Turnberry Isle, a premier south Florida golf resort, has special room rates for golfers who go to one of the resort's two golf schools, $299 per night.
Through March 10, the Kinetic Performance Center will analyze everything you do physically to hit a golf ball. On March 18, the resort has the Marius Short Game School, both half- and full-day classes.
And of course, there are those two lovely, Raymond Floyd-designed golf courses on the grounds.
Call 786-279-6741 for more info.
