Vision Airlines is fast becoming northwest Florida's new best friend, especially those in the golf industry. The low-cost carrier has been announcing new flights and low fares into the Northwest Florida Regional Airport for months now.
The latest involves low fares and new flights into the area from Lafayette, La., St. Louis, Las Vegas, Memphis and Fort Lauderdale.
"The new routes to Destin/Fort Walton Beach are consistent with our planned growth to Florida," Vision CEO David Meers said in a press release. "These markets are underserved by the major carriers, and many of these markets have lost significant service over the years."
Earlier this week, Vision lowered its golf bag fee to $39, plus taxes each way. Also, the airline is offering $59 flights through April 24.
Vision Airlines began operations in Las Vegas in 1994 and is now headquartered in Atlanta.
