Women's Fishing University Comes to Dania Beach

Ladies Let's Go Fishing and their Women's Fishing University is scheduled for April 20-22, 2011 at the I.T. Parker Community Center in Dania Beach. Ladies, these seminars provide an awesome, low-pressure way to learn, practice and participate in the wholesome sport of fishing, while enjoying the state's most productive waters.

Activities begin Friday night, April 20, with a meet & greet at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, classroom presentations begin at 8 a.m., with beginner and advanced sessions on topics including fishing basics and conservation, including a presentation by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission and lunch provided by Pollo Tropical.

Other fishing classes will be taught by offshore expert Tony Digiulian, and by inshore expert Capt. Lou Volpe. Lee Lavery will cover the basics, and world-record holder Capt. Jim Anson will teach fly-fishing. A "Dress for Fishing Success" fashion show is held at lunch, followed by sessions where ladies learn the art of fishing directly from the pros.

On Sunday, the ladies board charter boats at approximately 7 a.m. for an optional half day fishing trip followed by a filet demonstration.

The 2012 schedule also includes seminars in the Stuart area, May 18-20, and in Islamorada, Nov. 9-11.

I will be giving seminars and taking some ladies fishing during the May event here in Stuart. Hope you sign up, and I look forward to meeting you and fishing with you.
