Fishing is a sport, some might call it a skill, that when learned at an early age can provide a lifetime of fun and relaxation. That is why you should take your little one to a free Kids' Fishing Clinic today at Panacea’s Woolley Park.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission offers an excellent program for children between the ages of 4 and 16. Students learn the basics of environmental stewardship, fishing ethics, angling skills and safety.
Graduates become responsible marine resource stewards who will go on to protect and preserve Florida's marine ecosystems. And, of course, they will also develop fundamental saltwater fishing skills.
Fishing clinic organizers will provide equipment and bait to all participants, but if your child has their own rod and reel, please bring. A limited number of rods and reels will be given away to participants upon completion of the clinic.
If conditions allow, participants will get a chance to fish from the pier. This event is a catch-and-release activity and adult supervision is required. To find out more about taking a kid fishing, click here.
