Florida has once again been named the top boating state in the U.S. by the National Marine Manufacturers Association.  Florida led the nation in annual expenditures last for new powerboats, motors, trailers and marine accessories.

Discover Boating, the industry’s non-profit awareness program, has also picked the Gulf Coast’s Treasure Island as the “hot spot” in the country’s number one boating state.

According to the industry trade organization, Florida’s boating economy totaled more than $1.2 billion, compared to second place Texas with $906 million and third place California with $417 million.

You can credit Florida’s number one ranking to its year-round boating climate, first-class marinas and thousands of miles of coastline, rivers and lakeshores for the honor. The Fishing Capital of the World is once again also the top boating state in the nation.
