Irish pubs are more than just restaurants, they're a place of social gathering and fun. So, if you find yourself in the mood for a plate of comforting shepherd's pie and the welcoming smiles of new friends, raise a pint at one of the best Irish pubs throughout Florida.

1. McGuires (Pensacola)

Location: 600 E Gregory St, Pensacola
Web: Mcguiresirishpub.com
McGuires is famous in Northwest Florida all year long, and they'll be especially festive for St. Patrick's Day. Here you'll find traditional irish pub fare such as corned beef and cabbage, shepherd's pie, and fish and chips. They also have incredible steaks and burgers and a few unusual items like their Irish-inspired egg rolls filled with corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese. There's plenty of beers on tap too, but be sure to try one of their own from McGuires Brewery.

2. O'Kanes (Amelia Island)

Location: 318 Centre St, Fernandina Beach
I actually toasted to good health and happiness here with friends the night before my wedding. Their coffee drink, "The Nutty Irishman," is a must-taste!  They also have a really cool online video tour of the pub ... check it out on their website!

3. Raglan Road (Orlando)

Location: 1640 E Buena Vista Dr, Lake Buena Vista
Web: Raglanroad.com
Raglan Road's Chef Kevin is host of the PBS series, “Kevin Dundon’s Modern Irish Food,” and brings his expertise with traditional Irish dishes to this fun pub while also adding new creations with a Celtic twist. The restaurant’s warm interior of aged wood from old Irish bars and churches was built in Ireland and shipped to Orlando, giving it a truly authentic atmosphere. Each year, they celebrate by throwing a Mighty St. Patrick’s Festival, with a lineup of guest bands, Irish dancing, family activities, and plenty of food.

4. The Dubliner (Tampa)

Location: 2307 W Azeele St  and 12836 Henderson Road
The Dubliner in Tampa has two great locations, more than 13 beers on tap, and some great irish pub fare, too, from classic fish and chips and Shepherd's pie to American pub favorites such as burgers, pizzas, and hearty sandwiches.

5. Fado's (Miami)

Location: 900 S. Miami Ave, Miami
Web: Fadoirishpub.com
From a pint of Guinness, to imported Irish Pork Sausage, "banger", and Ireland's best known potato dish, "The Boxty," Fado's offers the most authentic Irish dining experience you can find in Miami. Want to brush up on your Irish lore? Bookmark their website on your smart phone, then test your friends with some trivia while at the pub.
