As a South Florida institution for more than 40 years, Grifs Western is one of the largest and most authentic western wear stores in Florida, drawing visitors from Europe and South America seeking genuine cowboy boots and hats.
The store is in the heart of Davie in southern Broward County, just west of Fort Lauderdale, where horses still roam the town’s canal-lined streets and local rodeo shows are weekend pastimes.
At 6211 Orange Dr., the shop carries everything from a $25 hat to a $3,000 pair of boots, with western brands like Lucchese, Justin, Tony Lama, Laredo, Durango, Wrangler and Stetson. It has thousands of boots, hats, belts, buckles, shirts, blouses, jeans, jewelry, home furniture décor, saddles, tack and more.
It’s run by a family whose members were among the original settlers of the town. (Griffin road, which runs through Davie, is named for them.)
The store opened more than 40 years ago as a feed and grain shop for horsemen and ranchers in the area.
