A Slice of the Keys at Home

The Keys and key limes go together like America and apple pie.

The tart, miniature-sized limes are part of South Florida’s culture and used to flavor everything from seafood and desserts to cocktails and, yes, body lotion.

I’m always looking for Florida treats to send to relatives and friends to keep ’em coming back for more. Here’s one of the more affordable and delicious finds: Dockside Market bundt cakes.

The swoon-worthy, moist cakes come in key lime (my favorite), lemon, coconut, banana, orange, rum, chocolate and chocolate chip. They go for $21.95 per cake or $36.95 for a sampler mini-pack.

Dockside Market baked its first cakes at Ocean Reef in Key Largo more than 30 years ago and sold them seaside at the local Dockside Mart, where you can still find them today.

You can also buy them at select stores throughout the state, including the Bailey’s General Store in Sanibel Island, Hale Groves in Vero Beach, Milam's Market in Coconut Grove, and Al’s Family Farm in Fort Pierce, among others.

Or, you can order them online here.
