Downtown businesses take to the streets for an old-fashioned Canada Day in the heart of Panama City Beach on Feb. 9.
Canucks and all cultures join in the annual celebration, the largest single gathering of Canadian snowbirds and their neighbors in the Florida Panhandle. Held at the Bay Point Wyndham Resort, 4114 Jan Cooley Dr., from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., the event includes lots of dancing, dinner, music and family activities.
Reservations are necessary and the cost is $22 per person.
The whole town gets into the spirit. The Canadian national flag, also known as the maple leaf flag, appears on many buildings, including homes.
An estimated half-million Canadians own property in Florida.
