Central Florida attractions get plenty of coverage. But in my humble opinion there’s still one that’s underrated: Polk Outpost 27, Polk County’s official visitor information center.
Located in Davenport, Polk Outpost 27 sells discounted tickets to LEGOLAND Florida, SeaWorld Orlando and a slew of other attractions.
And this weekend, the visitor’s center is the place to usher in the 2014 baseball spring training season. After all, Polk County’s Joker Marchant Stadium is the spring training home of the Detroit Tigers.
On Saturday, Feb. 22, Polk Outpost 27 will host its seventh annual Spring Training Celebration. This FREE event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes:
Sports-themed bounce house for kids.
Appearance by Ace, the mascot for the Minor League Lakeland Flying Tigers.
Display of baseball memorabilia.
Opportunities to win Detroit Tigers spring training game tickets and game-worn Tigers jersey. Also, guests who bring canned goods for a local food bank will be eligible to win a $50 gift card.
