From Saint Laurent to Isabel Marant, booties were one of the biggest shoe trends to head down the recent runways. Whether paired with dresses, skinny jeans or leggings, these mini boots are the shoe of the moment.
Luckily, there are as many styles as there are ways to wear them. And speaking of styles, the latest to land in the state come from the recently launched line from Miami-based Del Toro. The brand, which is housed in Miami’s Wynwood art district, created its first line of women’s booties just in time for the recent cold snafu.
The 2-inch wooden-stacked heels with leather lining and leather sole (complete with red stripes) come in four shades, including Gold Nappa Leather, Cobalt Nappa Leather, Black Pony Hair and Merlot Pony Hair (one of the hottest hues of the season). But don’t think you have to put your booties back in the closet once warmer days resume. Simply pair them with shorts and you have a multi-season wardrobe staple.
These latest endeavors from creator Matthew Chevallard, president and creative director of the brand, are handmade in Italy with locally sourced fabrics and skin. Considering Del Toro’s history partnering with local artists for designer collaborations, these boots are on the cutting edge of cool.
Find them at the Del Toro boutique in Wynwood and the pop-up boutique in Miami Beach (open through March). Or, if you can’t make it to the Miami area, score these chic shoes online at http://www.deltoroshoes.com/shop/women/boot.html.
