If you're a paddler who has never explored the Ochlockonee River, you're missing out.
Fortunately, there are a few days left to register for Paddle Florida's Dam to the Bay trip, which goes on for six days starting March 15.
The 76-mile adventure on the Ochlockonee will have paddlers traveling a distance between seven and 12 miles each day and camping by the river at night.
The Ochlockonee runs through south Georgia and north Florida, and the Paddle Florida trip takes place in Florida. The route begins near the Lake Talquin Dam about 24 miles west of Tallahassee and runs down to the Ochlockonee River State Park in Sopchoppy and Bald Point State Park in Panacea.
There are different options and prices for paddlers depending on age and student status. Provided meals are optional. For those who can't spend the whole six days on the river, there's a shorter option, called Paddle Florida Lite.
