Panorama: 'The Crack' Spring Run on the Chassahowitzka River

I've been accused a time or two about letting the cat out of the bag about a few secret places. This is one of them.

If you enjoy kayaking, chances are that you've either paddled the Chassahowitzka River, or at least heard about it. It has a little of everything – freshwater springs, lots of wildlife and excellent scenery. That's kind of the perfect paddling trip, right?

From the boat ramp, it's only about a half hour down Baird Creek to "The Crack", a unique hidden spring that is one of several that feeds into the Chassahowitzka River. The spring itself is wonderful – especially on a weekday when there is nobody around – but the spring run looks like something from a movie.

Here's a panorama of the spring run, and a cameo appearance from a phantom foot. It seems that I had my leg in the way when taking the panorama, so disregard that little bit of weirdness. Enjoy! (The spring run, not my foot.)
