Florida is a paradise for gardeners and botanists, and there is no shortage of beautiful gardens to visit. Whenever I’m near a garden, I always have to stop in and check things out.

One such place is Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Gainesville. The 62-acre facility is home to the state's largest collection of bamboo.

Guided tours happen the first Saturday of every month. The gardens are open to the public every day but Thursdays.
