I have a fascination with aviation history, especially the initial years of Wilbur and Orville Wright and Glen Hammond Curtiss.
It amazes me how rapidly aviation changed. In less than 50 years it went from wood, wire and canvas biplanes to jets that could break the sound barrier.
If you’d like to see some of the sleek and stylish aircraft created and used with incredible effectiveness by America’s armed forces then head to Titusville and visit the Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum.
The range of aircraft is excellent. There are restored biplanes, WW II models, jets, and helicopters on display. There are special exhibits such as a tribute to the famed Tuskegee Airmen and a new exhibition hangar dedicated to the men and machines of the Vietnam War.
It’s well worth a visit. While you’re in the neighborhood, don’t forget that other area sites and attractions include the Kennedy Space Center, Cocoa Beach, and Cocoa Beach Village.
