Walking along the beaches of Destin and Okaloosa Island is one of the most wonderful feelings ever…

And they’re adding something else to make it even more special.

Several times in July and August, you can take a nighttime walk on the beach with George Grey, Okaloosa County’s Sea Turtle Coordinator.

It’s a free guided walk and the beauty of it all is not just the opportunity to be on the waterfront after dark, it’s the chance to learn about beach wildlife and the nesting habits of sea turtles.

Call (850) 865-0868 to make reservations (required) and then get geared up to join Mr. Grey and better understand the world around me. I hope you get a chance to go every Monday and Thursday in July and August.

For more information, follow this link and be sure to call (850) 865-0868 for reservations – each walk is limited to 20 participants.
