How You Can Play The Caddyshack Course

By: Carling Nolan

“Miss it, Noonan!”

We've all mumbled these words on the course when our competitor has a tough putt. We’ve secretly said, “It’s going to be… about an eight iron,” when we’re really hundreds of yards out. These lines are the most famous golf quotes in history because of the all-time classic movie Caddyshack.

You’ve seen the movie too many times to count. It’s now time to play the real course in person! The film was shot at Grande Oaks Golf Club. Hmmm. Sounds private, right? WRONG.

Located near Fort Lauderdale, Grande Oaks is technically a private course. However, you can arrange tee times if you're staying at certain resorts. Not only will you be staying at world-class resorts, but you can finally crank up the music and dance in the fairway, Rodney Dangerfield style.

“So? So let’s dance!”

Caddy Shack was filmed at Grande Oaks because the course has very few palm trees, and the producers wanted the movie to seem like it took place in the Midwest. Although there isn’t much water on the course, the tree-lined fairways will give you a run for your money.

So, if you finally want to make cinematic moments come true, here's a list of resorts with the connections to make it happen.

1.       The Ritz Carlton, Fort Lauderdale

2.       Marriott Harbor Beach

3.       Hyatt Regency Pier 66

4.       Bahia Mar Beach Resort

If you go…

Davie, FL 33328

Hit ‘em straight!
