Are you familiar with the James Beard Foundation Awards?
They're a big deal as far as chefs are concerned and are considered by many foodies to be the Oscars of the restaurant world.
The James Beard Foundation announced its list of Restaurant and Chef Award Semifinalists at a press conference in Orlando, the first time the semifinalists were announced at a live event.
Selected from a list of over 38,000 entries, the prestigious group of semi-finalists represents a wide range of talented chefs and professionals. You can see a complete list listonline at jamesbeard.org/awards.

The Foundation will announce the final nominees for all award categories on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
And on May 5, 2014, the awards will be handed out at the James Beard Award Ceremony and Gala Reception in New York City.
