Fall Cocktail Recipe: Tall Zombie

Want to try a spirited and refreshing cocktail this fall? Stephen Starr's popular STEAK 954 will add a variety of flavorful Fall cocktails sure to make this season memorable.

They are introducing 12 new drinks to their menu under the following categories: Specialty Concoction with house-made ingredients, Prohibition Era Drinks, and Classic Tiki Cocktails -- and they all sound delicious.

Here's a sampling of their new specialty drinks for fall:

- Blue Dream with Bombay Sapphire Gin, house-made Blueberry syrup and Lemon Bitters

- Vieux Carre Cocktail with Michters rye whiskey, cognac, Benedictine, Angostura Bitters and Peychaud Bitters

- Short: Jungle Bird with Cruzan blackstrap rum, Campari, pineapple and lime

- Tall: Zombie prepared with Don’s mix #2, plantation, Tanduay and Gossling’s 151 rum, pineapple, lime and falernum (recipe below!)

And in case you're thinking, "What is falernum?" as I did, here's what the oracle (Google) said: "It's a sweet syrup with the flavors of almond, ginger, cloves, and lime, and sometimes vanilla or allspice."

Sounds like the perfect autumn spice mix.

STEAK 954 Fall Cocktail Recipe: Tall Zombie
2 oz Don's Mix #2
.75 oz Falernum
1 oz Plantation overproof rum
1 oz Tanduay silver rum
1 oz Gosslings Black seal 151 rum
1.5 oz Pineapple juice
1 oz Lime juice
1 dash Angostura bitters
Pour in a tall glass of ice and garnish with mint
