Think Irish food is all salty meat and bland potatoes? Think again!
Chef Kevin Dundon at Orlando's Raglan Road has reinvented his homeland's cuisine to be both pleasing to the eye as well as the palate.
I recently had the pleasure of attending Dundon's "Modern Irish Food" Signature Lunch Demo and watched as he demonstrated some tasty recipes, from homemade potato gnocchi with crispy pork belly to a traditional corned beef and cabbage prepared in a more contemporary fashion.
You might recognize Chef Dundon from the PBS show, Modern Irish Cooking, and I feel we're fortunate to have this internationally known celebrity chef right here in central Florida.
So, in the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, here are three drool-worthy photos from Chef Dundon's demo that will have you re-thinking Irish food:
Be sure to check out their website at Raglanroad.com/the-mighty-festival-st-patricks-week for more information about their St. Patrick's Day festivities as well as their menu.
If you want some fun trivia to impress your friends at the pub this weekend, take a look at Raglan Road's guide on how to speak Dublinese (aka "How To Speak With An Irish Accent.")
Insider Tip: Raglan Road is open all year long, so I'd actually recommend going on any other day or weekend other than St. Patrick's Day, because it's going to be a craic. And if you want to know what that means, you'll have to look it up in their Irish dictionary above. ;)
