There’s no better place to celebrate turning five years old than at Walt Disney World. And a few months ago, that’s exactly what we did for my oldest daughter’s birthday. Check out these great ideas of how to bring magic to your birthday at Disney World:

  1. Pick up birthday buttons – When you visit any of the Walt Disney World theme parks, be sure to pick up a free birthday button to let everyone know you're celebrating. If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, you can also receive a button when you check in, too. Many characters and cast members love recognizing and wishing guests a happy birthday at Disney World.

  2. Birthday voicemail – If you’re staying on Disney property, be sure to note on your reservation that you’re celebrating a birthday. When we arrived at the Art of Animation resort, Mickey and friends had left a voicemail singing ‘Happy Birthday.’ My daughter was thrilled!

  3. In-room celebrations – The folks at Disney Floral and Gifts can surprise your loved one with a fantastic in-room birthday celebration. Come back from your day at the parks to a room filled with presents, a Mickey birthday banner, stuffed animals and even a card from Mickey himself. The celebration offers many characters and themes perfect for all ages.

  4. Restaurant birthday recognitions – My family and I celebrate birthdays at Disney often. When making reservations, we always let them know it’s a birthday celebration and usually the cast members go out of their way to recognize it. My daughter received an autographed placemat from the 1900 Park Faire restaurant and on another trip, my husband received a personalized menu at the Flying Fish Restaurant.

  5. Order a Disney birthday cake – With 72 hours notice, you can celebrate with a personalized birthday cake at most table-service restaurants at Walt Disney World. Just call (407) 827-2253.

There are so many ways to make birthdays at Disney magical. Whatever you decide, it’s sure to be a fantastic celebration in the Orlando area.
