I love incorporating a little education into our traveling adventures. Most of the time, my kids are having so much fun that they don’t even realize they're learning something new. The more hands-on activities we do, the better!

Here are three fun ways to incorporate learning into your next getaway in Tampa:

At Busch Gardens Tampa, climb aboard the 30-minute open-truck Serengeti Safari tour for a unique look at the Serengeti Plain. As you travel along the 65-acre preserve, you’ll have the opportunity to see giraffes, zebras and other exotic animals. You may even get to feed some of them by hand.

At The Florida Aquarium, don’t miss the Penguins: Backstage Pass for the ultimate meet and greet. My family and I had the opportunity to meet these penguins and learned about their habitats, their eating habits and saw their personalities shine through, too.

Science lovers, don’t miss out on the Museum of Science & Industry, located in Downtown Tampa. The entire family can be a part of the Idea Zone!, an innovative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) lab that stimulates creativity and ingenuity with hands-on learning using media, simulation and prototyping technologies to promote design thinking. Afterward, catch a movie in the museum’s IMAX Dome.

The Tampa area offers a plethora of luxury and entertainment options. Of course, there are plenty of luxurious resorts perfect for families along the waterfront. Many anglers spend a down day relaxing with the family at the beach. And every trip should include a little time for shopping. If you can’t get enough of the ocean, the area offers exceptional diving and snorkeling.
