Segway Adventures with EcoMotion Tours

Have you ever been on a Segway? You know, those two-wheeled, robotic-looking modes of transportation? They provide a unique way to explore an area and have a lot of fun, too.

Awhile back, I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with the folks at EcoMotion Tours exploring Fort George Island Cultural State Park just outside Jacksonville.

The tour I participated in traveled from the Ribault Club to the Kingsley Plantation – the oldest standing plantation home in Florida. We stopped for a break there and were able to tour the grounds – which provides scenic views of the waterways. During our Segway ride, each of us wore wireless headsets to listen to our guide share the history and talk of wildlife in the area.

It was a fantastic experience with a unique way to see terrain – we even saw some gopher tortoises, and I loved discovering areas accessible only by foot and Segway.
