Most people don’t think of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park as somewhere to relax. With all the rides, shows and don’t forget the Festival of Fantasy parade, there’s excitement everywhere you turn.
However, there are quite a few places in the park that the little ones and I like to visit when we need some quiet time and just want to get away from the rush of the park. Here are some my favorite places:
Main Street U.S.A. Train Station – High above the rush of Main Street U.S.A., I love taking breaks inside the second floor of the train station. There’s always a nice breeze and plenty of seating inside the building. Plus, if you step out onto the patio you’ll experience some breathtaking views of the nearby castle. Grab some popcorn and enjoy your time out.
Insider Tip: The train station patio also provides great views of the Main Street Electrical Parade, but get there early to grab a seat.
Tomorrowland Speedway Walking Path – While most guests see this spot while passing by on the train, there’s a quiet walkway that connects Space Mountain and the Fantasyland Train Station, crossing behind the Tomorrowland Speedway. It’s an area that not many know to discover, but it’s one of my hidden gems. Find a park bench and enjoy the shade.
Insider Tip: If you have a service dog, there’s a fenced-in area with grass located here for pets to take a break, too.
Baby Care Center: Located in between The Crystal Palace and Casey’s just off of Main Street U.S.A., the Baby Care Center is a quiet escape for those traveling with children under the age of five. With changing tables, private nursing areas and even toddler-sized toilets, parents can use these areas free of charge. If your little ones need extra help with meals, the center has high chairs, microwaves available for heating bottles/baby food and even items for sale like diapers, wipes and other necessities. And, there is air conditioning.
