I love sneaking in education while on vacation with my kids. It’s a great way to learn and have fun, too.

The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority invites you to take a step back in time and learn the stories of West Palm Beach’s historic sites and landmarks.

The 45-minute ride through Downtown West Palm Beach features guides portraying residents from 1945. This journey through this historic area highlights the Clematis District’s distinctive architectural styles.

Stops include West Palm Beach's first “skyscraper,” the 10-story Comeau Building; Pioneer Linens, previously known as Pioneer Hardware in 1912; the Harris Music Lofts built in 1902 and the Downtown waterfront.

So, hop aboard and soak up the history. The trolley tours take place on Fridays at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. and Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. through April 19, 2014; with the exception of March 21 and March 22.

The tour is $5 for adults and free for children 10 and under. Reservations are required. To learn more, visit WPBGO.com orWestPalmBeachDDA.com.
