About an hour from the Orlando International Airport, New Smyrna Beach is a paradise for anyone who loves salt water.

The town boasts the most consistent and one of the best surfing beaches on the Eastern Seaboard.

Offshore fishing opportunities include great bottom fishing and fishing for pelagic species. And inshore anglers enjoy a maze of mangrove and salt marsh habitats that teem with redfish, trout and flounder among other species. For a list of area guides and captains, click here.

When you’re done fishing, check the New Smyrna Beach Waterfront Loop, which encompasses the heart of New Smyrna Beach. The nearly six-mile NSB Waterfront Loop gets its name from the views offered of the Intracoastal Waterway, Indian River and Atlantic Ocean. Check out the Marine Discover Center—great fun for kids and adults.

The “loop” offers more than 50 waterfront dining opportunities. Most places are happy to have you tie up and dine. For more information about this quaint spot with an Old Florida feel, click here.
