Clearwater Beach has won yet another major award. And with its accommodation, food, and public transportation options, coupled with its laid-back vibe, it’s hardly surprising.
The Travel Channel’s Best Beach Awards 2014 declared Clearwater Beach the best family beach. The article cited the Gulf coast destination’s baby- powder-soft sand, as well its beach’s gradual slope, which makes it ideal for babies and toddlers. According to Have Baby Will Travel founder Corrine McDermott, "Parents will love the shaded jungle gym, as well as full facilities and a snack bar with healthy options."
But you should take your family there. Just to see if you agree. Or something like that.
Other Clearwater Beach experiences your whole gang will love include:
- I had my grandkids watch Dolphin Tale, the movie Winter stars in, and then took them Clearwater Marine Aquarium to meet her in person. It was wonderful; they started clapping when Winter’s prosthetic tail was put on and she swam with it.
Celebrating the Sunset
- Sunsets at Pier 60 is a free daily festival that celebrates the end of the day. The fun includes vendors and street performers.
Noshing on Grouper
- Visiting Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill, smack-dab on the beach, is a must-do, as well as ordering one of their famed grouper sandwiches. And the she-crab soup is to-die-for!
