Let me start by saying that the title of this article is a little misleading.
Not only did three Florida islands make TripAdvisor’s 2014 Traveler’s Choice awards for Top Ten Islands in the United States, one of those islands tops the list.
Travelers picked Marco Island, nestled against the Gulf in Southwest Florida, as the best-of-the-best in the whole country. TripAdvisor noted its soft white beaches and sparkling waters, saying it’s "the perfect destination for those who crave a peaceful retreat but don’t have time to travel too far off the grid."
The barrier island of Anna Maria came in at number three on the list, with accolades for its laid-back vibe, fishing and local history.
Key West rounded out the list at number 10, with kudos for its leisurely pace and phenomenal diving.
But you should check out the islands for yourself. Just to make sure the reviews are right. Or something like that.
