New Smyrna Beach is one of Orlando’s closest beach towns, a mere hour from the City Beautiful.

But that’s just the tip of the sandbar. The village boasts 13 miles of golden-hued beaches, 300 surfable days a year, and locals who treat you like friends. It’s brimming with charming shops and cafes, a thriving arts community, and inviting accommodations.

You can drive on the beach – which is great if you have surfing gear – or opt for their no-traffic beach. And parking is free.

But seeing it is a lot better than just hearing about it. Take a peek and see if it looks like your kind of getaway.
