Sometimes doing a good deed is a grueling affair, laden with sweat, fraught with pulled muscles, and sprinkled with anxiety.
Nothing could be farther from the truth in the case of the annual Toast for the Paws Wine & Craft Beer Tasting and Silent Auction, Feb. 28, 2014, 6 to 9 p.m.
Held at The Wine Dog, 103 West 23rd St., Coronado Village in Panama City, the only lifting this event will require is raising your glass to a selection of 60 wines and 20 craft beers. Other responsibilities will include tapping your toes to live music, sampling luscious food and bidding on treasures in a silent auction.
And yet enjoying this evening of toasts and smiles is truly a way of giving back: all of the event’s proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Bay County and their ongoing mission to find forever homes for the area’s homeless animals.
Terri Davidson, owner of The Wine Dog and President of the Humane Society, has hosted this event for five years now. “It’s an amazing event that is near and dear to my heart,” says Davidson. “The event has grown every year and we expect this one to be the biggest yet.”
Davidson personally selects each wine and beer, and pairs them with food that will compliment them.
Tickets can be purchased at the event for a suggested donation of $15 per person and one wish list item. For more information call 850- 691-2725 or visit adoptme.org. A full list of wish list items can be found here.
