Yoga changes the way you look at the world.
Or at least, it did in the classes I took. They asked me to focus on being in the here and now, to be aware of my muscles stretching and flexing. They asked me to be aware of simple things, the sounds of my breathing and of sounds around me, the rustle of the wind through the palms and the chatter of birds.
And for me—a to-do-list sort of person, a connected, thinking-ahead achiever—it was very good medicine.
Float and Flow Yoga takes it even farther. You can inspire your day with the energy of nature in these 90 minute paddleboard yoga classes, held in Naples’ emerald waters. Classes begin with a paddleboarding warm up and mini-stroke clinic for newbies.
I can’t imagine anything more peaceful. Or more perfect.
If you’re in the area, you should try a class. Because being flexible helps to keep from getting bent out of shape.
Admission is $40. Classes are held at Naples Beach (2nd Ave. North) from 8:30-10 a.m. every Saturday through April 26, 2014. You can bring your own board or rent one. Contact Jill at 239- 595-3199 to register or for more information.
