Dark of the Moon Tour: Spirited fun in St. Augustine Lighthouse

St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States. In its past, soldiers ransacked it, pirates eyed it with greed, and tycoons indulged in its pleasures. Native Americans, Spanish explorers, and eccentric millionaires all lived, loved, and died there.

Some say the spirits of these long-dead souls still wander the town.

In this most-haunted city, the most haunted place of all is the tower of the St. Augustine Lighthouse and the Keepers' House.  And you can conduct your own paranormal investigation of it-- at night. That is, if you’re brave enough.

The Dark of the Moon Tour, as seen on ‘Ghost Hunters,’ starts with guides sharing paranormal experiences from the Lighthouse. Then they turn you loose to explore on your own. Gather your courage before you go; you’ll only have a glow stick to light your way.

You may need your courage. A quick glance at the Dark of the Moon Facebook Page reveals posts from visitors that include recordings of strange voices, sights, experiences and touches.

In fact, I found only one post where a visitor didn’t report something odd. The post read, “I saw no paranormal activity tonight. However, we had a fun tour with a great narrative. It was a beautiful night for fun pictures after climbing the 291 steps in the Lighthouse.”

So may be intrigued, you may get seriously spooked, or you may just enjoy a entertaining tour.

Sounds like a win-win situation to me!
