Casa Feliz, a beautifully restored Spanish Farmhouse designed by acclaimed architect James Gamble Rogers II, is a popular Orlando wedding site, but visitors can peek in on the place every Sunday afternoon, when live music and tours take place.
From noon to 3 p.m. on Sundays through Dec. 22, the historic home encourages people to bring a picnic lunch. Artists also are invited to paint or draw on-site during the event.
Overlooking the golf course in the heart of Winter Park, Casa Feliz features original Spanish roof tiles and whitewashed century-old bricks, along with a turret, a bell tower and a heavy timber balcony detailed in Mediterranean colors.
The interiors have been refurbished to their original splendor. The rich details of the house – the living room's vaulted ceiling of massive hand-hewn beams, the heavily carved European antiques accenting each room, a Majolica-tiled interior courtyard and fountain, arched doorways and a circular staircase – all evoke 19th Century Spain.
