Everything looks better with a glow: jack-o’-lanterns, pregnant women and especially the nation’s oldest city.
Nov. 23, 2013, to Jan. 31, 2014, is St. Augustine’s annual Nights of Lights celebration. The historic downtown shimmers with two million white lights, from its palm trees to its monuments and museums. It’s easy to see why National Geographic named the Old City among the top 10 destinations in the world for viewing Christmas lights--not to mention all the special events that coincide with the display.
It’s also not a bad place to find a deal. During Nights of Lights, several hotels and B&Bs offer packages to help you celebrate the season. Check them out at floridashistoriccoast.com/listings/deals.
