Dolphin Lovers Will ‘Flip’ for this Offer from Guy Harvey Outpost

By: Dalia Colon

I’d like to make an addendum to my Florida bucket list. Between “swim with the manatees” and “go shelling,” I neglected to mention another must-do water activity: take a dolphin cruise.

Now’s my -- and your -- chance to tackle this goal. Guy Harvey Outpost in St. Pete Beach is offering two complimentary dolphin excursions when you book at least a two-nights’ stay at the resort. On the two-hour tour, passengers will explore local waters and a private island.

Regular price for the dolphin cruise is $37 for adults and $27 for kids. Suites start at $218 per night, plus a $35 nightly resort fee. This offer is available from April 22 (a.k.a. Earth Day) to May 23. To book, call 877-428-4000 or go to

In commemoration of Earth Day, on April 24 at 6:30 p.m., there will be a free talk. Ann Paul, Tampa Bay regional coordinator for Florida Coastal Island Sanctuaries, will discuss the sea and shorebirds of St. Pete Beach. This event is open to the public.

Perhaps I should add “learn about Florida birds” to my bucket list.

Hi Dalia,
If learning about Florida Birds is on your bucket list, right now is definitely Florida’s peak time of year to get out there and go birding.
Many species of birds make their landfall in Pinellas County after an arduous journey north from South and Central America.
Check out to see what you’re missing.
You’ll find a list of birding excursions on that website, as well.
Happy birding!
