Who's up for a little friendly competition? For something cool to do on July 20, grab your camera gear and head over to Washington Oaks Gardens State Park for the Third Saturday Photo Challenge.
Don't worry if you aren't a pro photographer, because the challenge is open to shooters of all levels of expertise. You know, it might be fun just to go and hang out with other photography enthusiasts, plus I'd imagine there's going to be all kinds of awesome gear being hauled around the park.
Here's how it works: those interested in participating will receive a map of three spots in the gardens that are a part of the challenge. The maps will be available at the entrance and in the main parking area, along with the rules and other information needed to take part in the event. Take as long as you need, the challenge lasts all day.
Once you've got your photos, you'll submit two 3x5 images for the contest. You have up to five days to go through your images and send them in, and the winning photo will be placed on display in the Gift Shop and Visitor Center.
