If you’re into birding or want to get into it, there are several group bird walks coming up that are sure to please.

Citrus County Audubon hosts regular bird walks for members and the public in important birding locations in the Citrus County area and beyond. There are three remaining walks in November:

·      Tuesday, Nov. 26: Fort Island Trail Beach, 16000 W. Fort Island Trail, Crystal River. No pre-registration is necessary. Walk begins at 8 a.m. and lasts three to four hours.

·      Saturday, Nov. 30: Rainbow Springs State Park, 19158 S.W. 81st Place Road, Dunnellon. There will be a limited number of binoculars available for use. There is no fee to participate but regular park admission of $2 applies. Pre-registration is not necessary. The walk begins at 8 a.m. and will last two to three hours.

These outings are an excellent opportunity to see Florida wildlife and perhaps even mark of some new species on your life list. Bring a pair of binoculars and a field guide if you have them. There is no fee to participate in these walks.
