Who's ready for the weekend? I'm imagining there are a lot of head nods (and maybe a fist pump or two) happening right now. Go ahead and tell those fellas down the hall that you won't be attending "movie night at Bob's house" this weekend, because you have something much cooler to do.
The Suwannee River Paddling Festival is just a couple of days away, and the fun takes place in Live Oak at Suwannee River Music Park and Suwannee River State Park. Yep, while Bob and the boys are watching Gladiator for the fith time, you'll be listening to live music and kayaking on the Suwannee River.
The festival starts at 3 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 5 with a benefit concert at Suwannee River Music Park. Popular Paddle Florida music acts like Tammerlin, Magda Hiller, Tom Shed and Grant Peeples will be performing.
The next two days are spent kayaking the Suwannee River. Paddlers will depart Suwannee River Music Park on a 20-mile trip, ending up at Suwannee River State Park for the night. The following day, kayakers will shuttle to Madison Blue Spring State Park, and then paddle 12 miles back to Suwannee River State Park.
