Friends, if you haven't made weekend plans yet, head down to the Naples area for the annual Paradise Coast Paddlers Club annual kayak festival. It's quickly becoming known as the "Best Little Kayak Festival in Florida", and for good reason. The paddling trips are terrific, the location is spectacular and the crowd that attends are some of the coolest kayakers found anywhere.
I've been to a lot of kayaking get-togethers over the years, and the best workshop lineup I've seen is right here at this festival. The caliber of kayaking leadership is amazing for a festival this size. We're talking heavyweights like Greg Stamer, Steve Scherrer, Jay Rose, Michael Gray and others. Those are the type of folks you will be rubbing elbows (and paddles) with.
The festival takes place on the Isles of Capri, with the education sessions being held on Saturday, Apr. 14. On Sunday, almost everything is free. Yep, there are seminars, displays, kayaking barrel races, kayaking-related sessions on paddles – you name it. You'll be hard pressed to choose what activity you want to do. It's all good.
One lucky person will return home with a new Wilderness Systems Zephyr 155 or 160, valued at $1599.
No boat? No problem. Naples Kayak Company will have rentals available at the festival.
