For a lot of people, it's easy to get caught up in the daily grind. You know what I'm talking about – that schedule that follows the same basic pattern of wake up, go to work, drive home and collapse on the couch. On June 8, take a breather and reconnect with nature during National Get Outdoors Day. The event is all about getting outside and leading a healthier lifestyle by hiking, biking, geocaching and a variety of other outdoor activities. If you haven't spent much time outdoors, don't worry – the day is all about getting first-timers and kids outside on public lands.
Florida is hosting several GO Day events, complete with information centers and active areas, where people can set up tents, use a fishing pole and go geocaching. It's the perfect introduction to the fun of being outside.
Pasco County is hosting several GO Day events on Saturday, June 8. Visitors can head to Withlacoochee River Park, Crews Lake Wilderness Park or Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park and take part in a variety of outdoor activities for the whole family.
