If you are into geocaching and haven't been to an event yet, you owe it to yourself to head to Florida Finders Fest on Oct. 26. Trust me, this is going to be huge.
Let me rewind for a second - while the official event happens on Saturday, Oct. 26, come early and stay afterwards for more outdoorsy fun. Event details are still being developed, but go ahead and get your name on the "take off from work" calendar and start sorting out your gear.
Florida Finders Fest happens in the Ocala National Forest, with the main gathering point (and camping) being held at the Ocala Conservation and Youth Camp at Lake Eaton near Silver Springs. Keep in mind that if you are camping, there are no individual sites and no electricity (electricity is available at the camp), so you'll be making friends quickly. Don't worry; geocachers are a good bunch of folks.
Sound fun? For more information, check out this page on Geocaching.com, or head on over to the event's Facebook page.
