Well, nature lovers, you’re no doubt enjoying all of the many species of migratory birds you’re seeing right now thanks to the cold weather up north. If so, you’re in for a treat.
The folks over at Anastasia State Park have an event planned for birders of all skill levels: a guided bird walk that takes place Sunday, Jan. 12.
Anastasia State Park is about five miles south of St. Augustine and it’s home to many year-round and migratory bird species. Visitors come to enjoy the beautiful beach, nature trails, camping, windsurfing and surfing. Wildlife is abundant, and you can expect to see lots of shore birds and marsh birds while you’re there.
Can’t make this one? That’s OK, because this is a monthly event, so there are plenty more chances to take part.
The bird walk is free with regular state park admission. For more information on this and other fun things happening at Anastasia State Park, visit http://www.floridastateparks.org/anastasia/events.cfm.
