A few weeks ago I wrote a feature about one of Florida’s most amazing archaeological sites (‘You’ll Dig Tallahassee’s Mission San Luis’) and it’s such an interesting place I wanted to add an extra note:
On the second Sunday of each month, from 11-12:30 archaeologists are now offering guided site tours. It’s a fascinating place to see anytime, but when you have an archaeologist there to fill you in on what happened here 300 years ago when this was the capital of the Apalachee culture and the site of a Spanish mission, well, it’s one of the best dramas you’ll hear.
Guess what? The cost of the tour is included with admission. Just $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6-17.
