Here’s a fantastic way to learn more about Florida and a truly wonderful deal for everyone – and I hope you put it on your calendar. As they do each year, Saturday, September 28, is Smithsonian Museum Day when you’ll be able to visit many Smithsonian-affiliated museums – free!
Keep in mind you have to go online and get your Museum Day Ticket which is good for admission, excluding parking and special events and exhibits. The ticket’s good for two people – but one ticket per household.
I had no idea there were so many of them in Florida, but there are. Plenty. Consider this short list: African American Museum of the Arts (DeLand), Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens (Winter Park), Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (Tampa), the Harry S Truman Little White House (Key West), Orange County Regional History Center (Orlando), Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science (Cocoa), Historic Spanish Point (Osprey)…
And dozens and dozens more. You can see the entire list at www.smithsonianmag.com.
