The Boston Globe Cites Dr. Beach’s Five Florida Favorites

By: Gary McKechnie

One of the best things about living in Florida is knowing that a lot of folks are envious that you get to live in Florida.

A few weeks ago, a reporter for a London newspaper raved about the famous Frog Leg Festival of Fellsmere, Florida – and now the Boston Globe has noted that Stephan Leatherman – a Florida International University professor who’s also worked at the University of Massachusetts and did research at the Cape Cod National Seashore – has shared five of his favorite Sunshine State beaches.

Of course, it means a whole lot more knowing that Stephan Leatherman’s secret identity is… Dr. Beach!

You can read the complete story at the Boston Globe, but here’s a sneak peak to Dr. Beach’s Top Five:

1)   Fort DeSoto Park, St. Petersburg

2)   Siesta Key Beach, Sarasota

3)   Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, Key Biscayne

4)    South Beach, Miami

5)    St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, Port St. Joe
