For nearly 20 years now, Bok Tower Gardens has brightened up the Christmas season with holiday events and special decorations that make one of the most beautiful places on earth even more wonderful.
If you haven’t visited the tower and surrounding botanical gardens yet… DO. Located in Lake Wales and created by Dutch immigrant Edward Bok, he was thinking of his grandmother’s advice that one should always make the world a more beautiful place. (According to Bok, she had offered these words of wisdom: “Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it.”)
I’ve written about Bok Tower Gardens several times, and I do that because it is so special and lovely. And this month is a great time to visit since there’s a host of events to experience.
• On December 15, enjoy an extra special event: A Moonlight Carillon Concert followed by a special night tour of Edward Bok’s home, the 20-room Pinewood Estate mansion (estate tours open through January 5).
• Also through January 5, you can share your photos on Instagram (#xmasatboktower) and be entered to win a $100 gift card.
• Through January 5, there are Christmas Carillon Concerts every Thursday and Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m.
• On December 14 & 21, hands-on workshops will help you create your own holiday décor.
