St. Augustine Amphitheatre: A Fantastic Florida Concert Venue

By: Gary McKechnie

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, but as the weather cools down and I find myself outside more and more, I think of the concert I attended there last year.

So I took a glance at their upcoming list of shows and it seemed like a good idea to head back – and share this reminder.

Long story short: Florida’s State Play – Cross & Sword – had been presented here for decades. After the show ran its course, this venue was renovated into a 4,000-seat amphitheater and new shows started being staged here. So after Ponce De Leon exited stage left, in his place came Bill Clinton, Stevie Nicks, Buddy Guy, Garrison Keillor and dozens of others.

The season’s almost up, but after the performers have performed they turn the park into a winter wonderland – so there’s always something shaking here (even if it’s just camping).

It’s a wonderful venue and to see who’s appearing and when, visit  St. Augustine Amphitheatre
