Orlando’s MetroWest Open Again After ‘Rejuvenation’

By: John Schwarb

Golfers can add MetroWest back onto the huge list of great places to play around Orlando.

The popular Marriott Golf-managed property reopened in November after a summerlong “rejuvenation”, as they called it, which cost $1.5 million and included new greens and tees.

The greens, resurfaced with TifEagle Bermuda, should prove terrific whether you’re playing in mild January temperatures or (far) warmer July. And the new laser-leveled tee boxes are one of those things that you really appreciate when you’ve played other courses that don’t have them.

I visited the course a couple summers ago and found it very playable, the kind of a course that is a great gateway to a golf vacation. Orlando has a few big-time tests; MetroWest is a good place to get sharp before taking those on.
