In my hometown of St. Augustine, the mercury is starting to drop. It’s nothing drastic yet, but enough of a drop to make one daydream of slacks-golf weather and cool breezes.
One of the best places to take in fall and winter golf is Amelia Island, right at the tip of Northeast Florida. World-class courses from Pete Dye, Tom Fazio, Arnold Palmer and others have been created along the oceanfront and oak forests, and when you’re not on the courses, the accommodations are across-the-board excellent.
Here’s a few fall and winter golf packages from Amelia Island’s top hotels and resorts:
Amelia Hotel at the Beach has a three-night package featuring three rounds, complimentary hot breakfast buffet and free Wi-Fi. The package starts at $312 and includes one round of golf at Fernandina Beach Golf Club, Queens Harbor Golf Course and Golf Club at North Hampton. Visit www.ameliahotel.com for more information.
